Confirmation is the ceremony that many regard as the adult affirmation of the vows made for them by their parents at baptism. This affirmation is confirmed through prayer and the laying on of hands by the confirming Bishop.

The path to confirmation requires a greater understanding of the principles of the Christian faith and therefore involves attending a short course usually held at the Vicarage. When you speak to the vicar he will invite you to attend a confirmation course. This is a good way to explore your faith with others who are thinking about confirmation and is a safe place to ask any questions you have about God, Jesus and the journey of faith.

At St. Andrew's we have special young person's course using films, which they particularly enjoy. Whenever Confirmation is conducted in the course of a person's life - and it can be at any time - it can be a real spiritual milestone to help mark a transformational or 'epiphanic' moment.
